Why do you not accept American Express for payment?

Recently American Express has unilaterally decided to pull its support for online recurring billing because of what it considers an unusually high charge back rate for the industry as a whole. Unfortunately this adversely affects companies like us who put customer service as a priority and actually have a very low charge back rate.
